“Call that doctor back up here to check on her,” Nora recognised Gadiel’s voice instantly without having to open her eyes. It sounded like it was coming from right beside her, as was a light beeping. She wanted to move away from him immediately, especially after remembering what happened in the forest. Her neck was still hammering with a light ache and it felt like there was something restrictive wrapped around it. She wanted to get as far away from any vampire as possible, but figured not moving was a better option at the moment. They seemed to have kept her alive while she was asleep and she didn’t want to compromise that by moving, so was just going to keep pretending to be asleep.
