Chapter 22 The life insurance check for $100,000 bounced. Sylvie wasn’t really surprised. She’d never believed it was real; she’d just been curious to see if it would actually clear. She’d woken up with the radio blaring and her parents excitedly telling her about the fugitive who had killed her sister—the same man who had been in this very house just the day before!
