Chapter 27 Richard Carlan was innocent and he knew it, but he’d been a cop long enough to know that wasn’t any guarantee you’d stay out of jail, not if a determined cop came after you. Brosterhouse was coming after the wrong guy, but Carlan had no way of proving it. It was frustrating that there hadn’t been any fingerprints.
