“So, just like the rest of us, we have to wait for her to drop out the sky," Parker tells him, chuckling. “L, I didn’t know your sister was cool with them. When the f**k did that happen?” I asked, surprised. “I don’t know, man, you know my sister and I have our own lives. I know Lisa hangs out with them in the gym when they practice on their own and cheers at their basketball and volleyball games. Lisa did say she was going to alternate driving this year with her friends, but I thought she was talking about the cheerleaders. I was just as surprised and a little terrified as you when I saw them in front of my house this morning," he says, confused. “They have been friends since freshman year, she may still be a cheerleader, but you know if she’s hanging with Ziri that means she openly told Steph and her cronies to kick rocks at some point, and you know Ziri is one of the only few who have done that besides us and what’d you know everyone who has dissed Steph is friends with her, but I also think there’s more to Ziri, Lisa, Chelsea, Katie, Jaraiya and the twins’ friendship,” Pj says, chuckling.” What the f**k! Damn, we need to pay more attention,” Lance says, shaking his head. “What do you mean, you think there's more to their friendship?” Parker asks, confused as Ty stiffens and sniffs the air with darkened eyes, meaning Apollo is pushing forward. “What I said is there’s more to their friendship than we know. Haven’t you noticed they wear matching necklaces all the time? I’ve seen them up close in AWD class. It's a group of seven female wolves together with the full moon surrounded by moon flowers. Each full moon has seven gems in it. I've never seen them take them off, even to fight or for practices and games. Besides that look, even when they’re together, the necklaces lightly glow. They just have different colors. Jarayia’s gems are blue and black, Lisa’s gems are green and black, Chelsea’s are purple and black, Katie’s are pink and black. The terror twins have pink and black and Ziri’s has yellow, black and orange gems. I just haven't figured out what kind of gemstones they are or what they’re for. Chelsea and Ziri are cousins, so it makes sense they’re close,” He says, looking deep in thought scratching his head. “I did notice the necklace when Lisa started wearing it freshman year," said Jarayia’s grandmother gave them to them, but I never thought to ask why or what they were for.” Lance says, rubbing his chin. “They’re bond protection necklaces. Not only are they bonded, but so are their wolves, but there is more to it than that,” Kayden says, sniffing the air. “How the f**k do you know that?” Parker asks him. “Ziri and Chelsea are my cousins. I asked them about them over the summer, but that’s all they would say about them, but I know there’s more,” Kayden says slightly frustrated. “What?!” All of us except PJ basically shout. “Yeah, our dads are brothers and our moms grew up together in the Scared Meadow Moon Kingdom. Their moms are sisters, so we all grew up together as family. Plus, I wanted to make my way here without my family connections," he says with a shrug as we nod digesting that information.
“We can ask them about the necklaces later. I just realized something. Who plays basketball that Lisa cheers for besides Chelsea?” I ask, confused. PJ, Kayden, Parker and Lance look at me like I’ve grown two heads. “Zirrya, Tiffany, Taylar, Jaraiya and your cousin, Duh dude.” Parker says while PJ and Lance shake their heads. Ty starts walking towards Chelsea and the rest of the volleyball girls. We don’t follow him, this is his mate's moment they're going to want privacy. I looked at PJ and Lance, shocked. “How did I not know they played basketball? I knew they played volleyball?” I say, groaning, I love basketball, I play for and am the captain of the varsity boys' team, and have been since the end of freshman year.
“Dude, as good as they were in middle school. What makes you think they wouldn’t be any better now? Why do you think the girls' varsity team are three-time state champs?” Pj says, chuckling at my shocked expression? “The last volleyball game of the season is Friday night. We could go and see our girls. You can see how much better she is when basketball season starts. She’s mad good,” Lance says. “How do you know there’s a game? And how do you know how good she is?” I ask, growling at him as he raises his hands in surrender. “Because Lisa told me and I know because I sometimes watch Ziri, Jarrah, the twins and Chelsea practice in the gym before and or after their practice. They practice before us on the weekends and after us during the week. I sometimes get in early to watch. Ziri’s got three water balls, Jaraiya’s jump shot is super smooth, and you see how tall Chelsea is? She is a monster down low in the paint. The twins are monsters on defense. They’re all ballers for real. Basketball season starts after our birthdays. We can go to the games, our game schedule is different from theirs. By then we’ll also know if they’re our mates.” Lance says, excitedly. “Alright when we go to the game, we need to not act like dorks until we figure s**t out.” I say, looking at them as we hear cheering and look over to see Ty kissing Chelsea. “Guess they are mates,” Lance says, chuckling. “Ask her to hang out in the rec room with us and her friends” I quickly mindlink Ty. “She said she’ll see, volleyball girls have weight room for an hour plus the twins, Katie and Ziri have training with warrior John.” He sent back.
“Ty might get the girls to come hang out in the rec room later today. Well, his mate might.” I told Lance, Kayden, Parker and PJ, rubbing my hands together. “Why do you look mischievous and worried at the same time?” PJ asked, trying not to laugh, while the rest of the guys openly snickers. I glare at them, “You’re too observant, Pj. You know Ziri can’t stand me anymore, and I enjoy getting on her nerves, so trying to talk to her today should be entertaining, but she might kick my ass for it too, and you know she enjoys that,” I say, cringing as I think about the last time I fought her. It was not pretty. “I told Ziri the same thing this morning. You know, she’s going to know something’s up when Chelsea tells them about Ty being her mate and him inviting them to hang out with us, and you suddenly try to talk to her. PJ just said they’re cousins, which is hard for me to believe. Not only are they two different supernaturals, but Chelsea is a lot nicer than Ziri,” Lance says, a little worried. “Jeez, who are you telling? I grew up around them both and still can’t believe it sometimes,” Kayden says, laughing.
“I’m still trying to get used to the fact that you’re their cousin. And I know, but we could all try to talk to them, and maybe they would be more willing if they all talked to us,” I said, trying to think of something that would work in our favor. “You all have a healing class with them. You guys can try then,” Zeus says to me after listening to my internal battle. “We can try," I say back nervously. “I think one of the twins is my mate,” Parker says, nervously as we all snap our heads towards him. His birthday is at the end of the month;December thirtieth. “As in one of the terror twins?!” Kayden all but yelled. "Oh man, you might be just as screwed as Jay is,” Lance tells him, laughing. “Yep, we might be in the same boat, my friend,” I tell him, chuckling. Kayden laughs, “I’m probably in that boat too, if my guess is right. Your cousin might be my mate Jay.”
“Wow mated to each other's cousins,” Parker and Lance chuckle. “You know their moms are sisters, but elite warrior Linda is more girly compared to elite warrior Kayla, so that makes sense that Chelsea and Ziri are that way,” PJ chuckles. “I have never been more nervous than I am today and I think Ziri may know or have one of her “feelings” that her best friend might be my mate. I would never say it to their faces, but she, the terror twins, and Katie kinda scare me with all they know and figure out how strong they are,” Lance says, nervously breaking me out of my thoughts.
Ziri has a sixth sense kinda thing. When things outside the norm are happening, she can usually figure out pretty quickly what’s going on. And the girls are just as good at it. It can be a little creepy like they are inside your head. “We probably got a hundred plus pounds on them and at least a foot in height, and you’re scared of them?” Parker chuckles at him. “You don’t have to be huge to be scary! And the fact that they are mostly tiny and can still kick our asses is what makes them scary.” Lance growls at him. I, along with Kayden, chuckled as PJ rolled his eyes along with Parker.
“Let’s go. Class is going to start soon. It looks like Ty is walking his mate to class,” I told them as we chuckled and went to grab our bags out of my trunk. When we walk into the building, we see Steph and her cronies. They look pissed, probably trying to f**k with Ziri again. I don’t know why they still try, I used to pick on her when I couldn’t figure out why I was drawn to her. I used to trip her, make fun of her height or pull her hair, although I’ve always loved her hair. It's beautiful, half is black, and the other half is a gorgeous pure white, almost silver. She’s had her locs for as long as I can remember, and they’ve gotten so long, I can’t wait to play in them or have them wrapped around my fist, whichever comes first. Steph and her cronies see us and immediately make their way towards us. “Here comes trouble,” Kayden says with a light growl under his breath. “Hey alpha!” Steph purrs. “Hi gamma,” Jeanie giggles. “Hey delta.” Lizzie winks. "Hey Kayden baby, I missed you," Cassy whines. "That sounds personal because we are not together Cassy! Never have been, never will be,"Kayden snaps with glowing eyes. “Ladies,” we say in unison, they giggle and squeal as we try not to cringe. Steph clears her throat, and they stop. “We saw Beta Ty has found his mate, and we wanted to know if you guys wanted to go out tonight and celebrate. We should get to know her since we are the future female leaders of the pack,” she says excitedly while trying to rub her hand on my chest.
I stepped back and scoffed, making PJ and Lance step back as well as Parker and Kayden stand-off to the side with their arms across their chests. Steph almost falls but catches herself. “Steph, we’re not together anymore and we both know I’m not your mate. I was at your party. I saw the warrior you were staring at,” I told her calmly, narrowing my eyes at her as Zeus growled in my head. He hated her and her wolf. She pales a bit before she masks it. “Just wait until your birthday, you’ll feel the pull too, Jordan.” She lightly growls as we chuckle. “I doubt it, but we already got plans later after practice,” I say, rolling my eyes. “Well, we can do your plans with you guys.” She says, batting her lashes. “Nah, there’s already enough people.” I tell them as we start to walk away. “Who are you hanging out with, Jordan? Are they girls?” She demands, growling. “Man, she is nuts,” Parker chuckles, shaking his head. “It’s none of your business, you’re not my girlfriend and if you growl at me again, you won’t like the consequences.” I tell her seriously, growling and letting my eyes glow as Zeus pushes forward. He hates her disrespectful attitude.
