18 THE PREPARING
Spray-painting a circle of protection and a triangle of art can be a real chore. John was intent on conjuring the Rakshasa that was responsible for the death of his wife and child. Due to its importance, he had decided that using mental geometric shapes to summon and contain the esoteric creature was not good enough.
John had chosen this particular warehouse space because of its expanse of uninterrupted cement floor. He had polished a seventy-five foot by seventy-five-foot square area to a reflective finish.
He obtained this abandoned warehouse through one of those friends of a friend by six degrees of connection. These back-alley relationships always seemed to be able to supply exotic needs for suspiciously low prices.
