“I cannot tell you why, Sir. But there’s another thing that I must tell you,” Michael said, keeping them all in suspense. Everybody’s attention was drawn to the man once again.
“Sir, General Ross has been kidnapped as well!”
A few seconds of absolute silence followed. General Stone goggled, while Emily stood there, motionless.
“What the hell are you saying, soldier?” he said to him. He could not absolutely believe what he had just heard.
“Just so, Sir ! Besides, those damned savages have subjugated him!”
Other comments from the colonizers were engendered.
“What do you mean ´subjugated´ ? Mr. Stone, who was more and more perplexed, asked him.
“They’ve made him one of them, Sir! They’ve captured him and made him theirs!” Michael answered.
“That’s absurd, Sir!” Emily cried out.
