Chapter 6 – Changes
2101, 17 February. MATER 3.
S
everal months had passed already since the spaceships had first come unhooked from the International Space Station, complying fully with the established timetable. The middle of the month of February had passed, and the three spaceships had traveled beyond Mars by then. Jupiter and its satellite Io that was in orbit around it at that moment were already visible above the horizon. The three spaceships would attain their maximum speed, that is eight-tenths of the speed of light, within a couple of months.
Meanwhile, all crew members’ lives were going on quite normally. They all had got used to that type of reality that could even be apparently weird, but that was actually very similar to terrestrial life to which they were used.
