"Why did you say that?"
Mitch glared at Axel, fury lacing his blood. He would never interfere with Axel's life, so there was no reason his brother should have said anything like that to Tess. When Axel had told their mother to stay away if she forgave their father, Mitch kept his mouth shut. Tess was not their mother, so Axel had no place meddling.
Mitch placed both hands on the table, holding Axel’s gaze. "Tess is not your business to ruin."
Axel stood. "Why didn't you tell that nice girl yourself then? Why did you marry her if it were just business? How far along are you to becoming just like Dad?"
Mitch inched closer, but Damien stood and put himself between them. Mitch's jaw clenched. "It’s not just business. Not anymore."
