Chapter 4 – Points and Ambitions

“Hmph. How am I supposed to praise you when you’re this dumb… You know what? Forget calling you ‘Master’ from now on. I’ll just call you ‘Pig-Man.’ Seriously, your brain…” Little Sprout huffed, her eyes brimming with contempt as she glared at Noah Steele. Noah scratched the back of his head, awkwardly trying to change the topic. “Uh… Little Sprout, why do you feel so familiar? It’s like I’ve known you forever… but I’ve never met you before. How is that possible?” Her eyes rolled so hard it could’ve powered a small turbine. “Finally noticing, huh? This body was designed based on the woman you subconsciously find most attractive. That’s why you feel familiar even though you’ve never met me.” Noah froze for a moment. “Oh… so that’s why you look like someone I’ve seen before, but I couldn’t figure out where… It was my own subconscious all along.” Little Sprout stared at him like he’d lost the last few brain cells he had, but Noah wisely chose to ignore the look. Her explanation, however, gave him some clarity: she was a perfect projection of his subconscious—a dream woman made flesh. He had only ever vaguely glimpsed this ideal figure in his dreams, which explained why she seemed so familiar. “Alright,” Little Sprout continued, “let me tell you something else… hmm… how about martial arts?” She gestured gracefully as she spoke. “The human body is full of untapped potential. Ancient sages discovered how to harness it, creating martial arts. This allowed humans to conquer wild beasts, survive harsh environments, and eventually dominate nature. Though martial arts have declined today, some still practice it. In the future, scientists collected over 8,000 fragments of ancient martial texts and reconstructed a portion of the techniques using advanced computers. With extreme training, a practitioner could reach godlike power… and live for over a thousand years.” Noah blinked. “Wait… a thousand years?” Little Sprout puffed out her chest proudly. “A thousand is the baseline. Some can even reach fifteen hundred. Their strength is insane—a single punch can destroy an airplane, a single kick can topple a small mountain.” Noah’s jaw dropped. A punch that can destroy a plane? A kick that can flatten a mountain? Non-human… He drooled at the thought. “Ah… my head hurts!” he suddenly crouched down, clutching it. “Hmph! Daydreaming again? Are you even listening?” Little Sprout swatted at him. “No… no, I’m listening… Please continue,” Noah replied, wiping his drool and practically bowing like a submissive servant. In another era, he could have been crowned the biggest sycophant in history. Little Sprout gave him a disdainful glance but proceeded. “Let’s start with Combat Power. That’s basically your offensive capability, though it includes defense and combat skill. With your intelligence, just think of it as attack strength.” Noah nodded. “Higher Combat Power means stronger. Someone wielding a weapon is stronger than someone empty-handed. A powerful skill or weapon can boost it significantly. Charm measures your attractiveness to others. Higher charm means more popularity. For instance, if two guys approach the same girl, the one with higher charm has the advantage.” Noah absorbed the lesson. “Of course, real-life factors like money or status matter, but charm still plays a critical role.” Little Sprout continued, “Points are your currency. Skills are purchased with points. Lottery draws are rewards—could be a basic skill, could be the god-tier ones. Skills also have levels.” “No way… levels?” Noah asked. “Yes. Six levels: Beginner, Intermediate, Advanced, Master, Grandmaster, and God-tier.” Little Sprout’s eyes gleamed as she continued, “God-tier skills are practically divine. Take Medicine, for example—God-tier allows resurrection, rejuvenation, lifespan extension… all possible, assuming the body’s intact. Historically, the great doctors like Hua Tuo or Sun Simiao only reached Grandmaster level because mastery in all areas is nearly impossible. But the system combines historical knowledge, modern science, and medicine to create God-tier skills.” Noah’s heart raced. If I could reach God-tier… He could already imagine himself curing diseases, saving lives, becoming a legend. Little Sprout, unimpressed by his daydreams, rolled her eyes and continued. “Tasks are generated based on the host’s situation. Completing them earns points, which is the main way to gain points. There’s also an Achievement system.” Noah’s eyes lit up. “Achievements? What’s that?” Little Sprout flicked her hand, and another screen appeared, filled with tiny text: Achievements: Prove your academic skills to your parents. Become top of the class. Reward: 5 points …Top of the school. Reward: 10 points …Top of the district. Reward: 20 points …This year’s champion. Reward: 50 points … Wealth shows power. Reach 100,000 in personal assets. Reward: 5 points …1,000,000. Reward: 10 points …10,000,000. Reward: 20 points …100,000,000. Reward: 50 points … Save someone’s life. Earn genuine gratitude. Reward: 5 points … Eliminate a criminal. Reward for justice. Reward: 5 points … 100,000. Use medical skills to save 100 million lives, earning the title “Divine Healer.” Reward: 5000 points Noah’s head spun. So many points… If I had all these… His imagination ran wild again. Little Sprout c****d her head. I can’t tell if having this host is a blessing or a curse… Noah snapped back to reality, meeting her disdainful gaze. Even with his thick skin, he felt a little embarrassed.
