Every way must be paved by hard work, and through pain the finest quality manifests.
As White stepped intototo the room, two statues of great beasts and that of an old man came into his sight.
The deep black statue was huge covering over five meters alone. On twos it stood with steadiness as though it would launch at anyone it was not pleased with.
Its body was made of black scales that were more like the impenetrable and strong walls of the praised great wall.
Although it was a statue in place, White had a feeling that the creature was realistic. What was the reason for the tales that he was always told, the texts he always read, were they really written for naught?
With his knowledge, he was sure that the creature before him was a true dragon. It was a black jade dragon to begin with one whose appearance was last heard of for the last fifty million years.
Whether this was the truth or not, it was what the records stated and for that, how could they argue things out if they held not even a feathery weight's weight of the truth of its appearance?
What were the black jade dragons to begin with? They were said to be the finest and most noble dragons whose bloodline was that of the heavenly mystifying jade dragons. This was a breed that even an immortal emperor would die to hold as his life companion.
With their noble character, it was never in place for one to sign a slave contract with them accepting going on for an equal contract.
The black jade dragons were beasts known for their chance in growth as they could reach the beast mark of the 15th spiritual stage if monitored well.
What was the 15th stage to the current beasts, this was a stage that most beasts would only dream of accessing even with great talent and resources? In fact, reaching the tenth stage was enough for a beast to dominate more lands and resources as they were kings above kings, and reaching such feet was but enough for many to die at peace as the last seven stages were worlds apart.
For the black jade dragons to reach such a feat was but no joke. Although they were praised as the mighty kings, those of the 16th and 17th stages were beyond compare and were called the emperor beasts. The rumored seven sealed emperors were under this category and for this, the only choice in the last war was to seal them but as one could know, any lock would degrade due to various factors with time.
Next to the black jade dragon was a little white bird. its white color as through the holy light that White dared not look at it any further with his poor mortal body.
If he were to describe such a character, it was heaven defying. This was the praised heavenly beauty if it were for the human maidens but this was a bird.
Its long tails raised high in the air as though inserting its dominance. This was the rumored nine tailed phoennix but it's colour would always betroy it as most pheonixies were rumored to be red and of the fire type magic.
Although this was true, many of the ancient beasts were gone to the trash cans of history that their character was but unknown to the current world.
This was the heaven gifted beauty, the Icefone Phoenix whose nobility and bloodlines were in no way behind the black jade dragons.
In fact, rumor has it that the Icefone Phoenix was the last direct noble bloodline of the heavenly Phoenix and it was then gifted to the mighty goddess of beauty to cater for.
In the whole history of the gone eras, the Icefone only appeared a number of times that only needed a single hand for one to count. This was the rarity of such a beast. In fact, the two were among the praised divine beasts of the current era. They were in tainted and were Supreme kings when in their adult phases.
The last statue was of an old man that was frail and too old that looked as though it would be shaken on a simple push.
It's wrinkled face that exposed all his facial bones could never escape one's glance in case of sight. its white hair fell off to the back like a towering waterfall that would never be swayed by the winds. Its long white beard was one that the praised sage was rumored to hold.
It was at this time that a dim light shone on the ice jade on the old man's statue and a frail old man that was the real description of the statue except for his long white un tainted robes appeared before him.
It is a pity he is the real description of trash to begin with?
A voice was heard. it was deep and masculine, one full of power and vigor that not any creature would dare bellow before it. It was the black jade dragon.
Although the ice jade pieces held bits of their souls, they were in no place of taking form as the humans did but only had to take up a sculpture of their own definition for a chance to manifest.
Are you forgetting this frail old man was but real trash before taking up the son of Destiny trial.
A rather soothing feminine voice that was though of a calm breeze swept the room, it was the praised Icefone that not a single beast would dare remain stable before its noble character.
You two better stay quite or else be thrown out of this place and I would see whether you would stand the heavenly tribulation with your petite strength.
You sound like you are at your own peak yet you had to fail your simple task thus putting us on such a frail situation.
Although the Icefone complained, it still kept quiet as though it could not provoke the old man.
Boy, you don't have even the slightest chance of success in case you are to go for the trials of my inheritance, but still, the ball is in your hands and you have the chance to conquer the un unthinkable path.
Although it is really good that you have come, it is far from completing the trial, you can only give me your name after the first level of trial you partake.
There are three levels with each holding a reward that would be of crucial benefit to your path of immortality.
Lison was now put in a hard place to take up such a risk, he was a nobody in the current world that he dwell in.
He held no power to defend what was his or the power to fight for what he believed was the truth.
This was a world where the nobles were the masters, the cultivators praised as gods and the rich the humans then what of the rest.
What of the poor who had to firm lands to produce food that the praised ate without any ounce of pity on those that toiled th plant or farm the lands.
It was a place where their lives were too cheap to be compared to pets to begin with. A life that he had to praise one for being merciful of sparing him just after slaughtering his whole family and leaving only him and his dad.
Thinking till here, his heart boiled with range, his blood turned fierce his eyes began to shade but all this was futile.
It was like holding a cup to dry and ocean. How much water was housed in the ocean and how many littres can a cup hold, this was only a dream that would never come true to begin with.
He had accepted this fate and resigned himself to life. After failing to walk the path of immortality, all he was left with was to accept this said path of his but who knew that the heavens still thought of him to date.
He was desperate, he needed revenge but all this was never a thing he would reach with his frail mortal life.
He wanted a woman, one praised for beauty and and knowledge but with his current life, he should only continue to dream on but the doors had opened to him, he was before an opportunity that was had to come by...
He had to walk this path. his heart beat with vigor, his blood boiled, he had to take the bull by the horn, for the sake of his life, his dad and the poor mortals, he needed power.
It was like he had gotten himself the zeal to fuel his path when taking up the trial. With turbid breath, he spoke out, ready to hold the trial.
The old man smiled. It was like this several million years when he inherited the legacy of the three legends.
It was now time to let the legacy go on to the next of kin of his Lison bloodline. Although it was ok to let any other person inherit the legacy, the current world always favoured their own kind. He was pleased that the Lisons, a clan he started was still in place.
Unknown to him, his worst mistake was failing to know what the current world held. If he was to know that all his clan was wiped out in search of the legacy that he had protected with all his life, his only bits of spirit left would shatter for good.
