Remy's goal wasn't mere parity or to simply fight with stronger foes; rather, he
sought to suppress his own cultivation level.
Unexpectedly, the ethereal white gas hovering in the air suddenly coalesced,
forming a luminous white bead before Remy. Accompanying its manifestation
was a message:
"Will of All Beings: Eliminate Evil"
"Difficulty Level: LV6"
"Description: Klaus Sterling, the third son of the Sterling family in Emerald City, is
a tyrant who exploits his position and acts with impunity. Protected by his family's
influence, he tramples upon the common folk without repercussion."
"Requirements: Judge Klaus Sterling"
"Reward: 1-6 wisps of Ethereal Force (Reward depends on completion
rate)"Remy read the contents of the virtual box. He narrowed his gaze as the
memories from his past resurfaced, dredging up the painful recollections he had
long sought to evade.
One evening, as usual, his parents drove him home. But then, a speeding SUV
approached them recklessly, going way faster than the speed limit of 70
kilometers per hour on the road, easily exceeding 120 kilometers per hour.
Suddenly, disaster struck. There was a terrible car accident, and while he was
lucky to survive, sadly, his parents did not. It was just bad luck.
At first, it seemed clear that the other driver was to blame. Remy was
heartbroken over the loss of his parents. But overnight, everything changed. The
blame shifted from the other driver to his parents, and their supposed mistake
became the focus.
"Why?" he wondered, confused by the sudden change.
Remy tried to seek justice, but instead, he faced threats and violence. He
realized that because of his lower status, he couldn't fight back.
In his despair, he decided not to give up on life but to make it better. He started
investigating the other driver and worked hard to improve himself.
After a year of planning, he found out that the other driver was a powerful
merchant. Remy managed to settle the matter by being friendly and giving gifts.
In the end, he orchestrated a big explosion at the merchant's house, taking down
the whole family.
But despite his revenge, he regretted not getting back at the person who had
wronged him. Those thoughts lingered as he returned to reality, gripping his
sword tightly in the courtyard.
“There are powerful people in the world who do whatever they want. No one can
stop them.”
“The collusion between the government and the merchants, the suffering of the
commoners, nowhere to complain.”
“When I came to this world, I could easily obtain the power to seize the fortune of
the world.”
“In that case…I have to do something.”
“If this world is like an abyss, then I will give the sword in my hand a
name…Abysscleaver!”
“I, Remy, can’t care about all the injustice in the world, but if I encounter it, I will
draw my sword and bring about justice!”
“Bring someone here!” Remy yelled.
Moments later, Night Faker, who was guarding the door, immediately entered the
courtyard after hearing it.
“Sir, what are your orders?”
“Make arrangements. I want all the incriminating evidence of Klaus Sterling, the
third young master of the Sterling family.”
“This…” Night Faker hesitated for a moment and looked up, saying, “Sir, what is
it that you want?”
Remy glanced at Night Faker and replied: “Do I need to explain it to you?”
Night Faker tensed up, his nerves on edge. "Sir, I'll get on it right away," he
stammered before hurrying out of the courtyard.
Meanwhile, Remy maintained a steady rhythm with his sword. With a mission at
hand, strength was paramount for his self-preservation.
After Night Faker departed, he swiftly relayed Remy's directives to the hundreds
of individuals under his command. As the Arms Master overseeing Spring Wind
Street in Ping Shan City, Remy held considerable authority, responsible for
maintaining security and order in the area.
News of Remy's orders spread rapidly, reaching Klaus Sterling's ears within the
hour. In the Sterling family mansion, Sterling Heizi dutifully briefed his master on
the developments.
Drumming his fingers on the table, Klaus Sterling pondered, "Gathering evidence
against me? This new Arms Master of Spring Wind Street is quite intriguing..."
"Arrange a meeting with him," he instructed Sterling Heizi, who promptly
complied before taking his leave.
Outside the courtyard, Night Faker approached Remy. "Sir, the Sterling family
wishes to meet you at Ju Xiang Tower. What should we do?"
Remy's brows furrowed, a surge of disdain rising within him at the mention of the
Sterling family. Barely half an hour into his operation, they were already aware of
his actions. Giving Night Faker a meaningful glance, he responded firmly,
"Decline the meeting."
Night Faker recoiled, sensing Remy's displeasure. He hesitated to speak further,
wary of the unknown offense the Sterling family had committed against the newly
appointed Arms Master.
Yet, Remy grappled with uncertainty. Was he truly equipped to handle this
situation as a Arms Master?
Exiting the courtyard, they encountered Sterling Heizi waiting patiently, his
posture rigid and composed.
He wasn’t worried that Remy would refuse. Because he represented the Sterling
family. Seeing Night Faker walk out, Sterling Heizi smiled and said, “Brother
Night, how is it?”
Originally, he had already prepared his next words. However, Night Faker’s
words made him suspect that he had heard wrongly.
“He won’t.”
“What?”
“My master said he won’t meet you.” Night Faker repeated.
Sterling Heizi frowned. Things were a little out of his expectations. He stretched
out his hand and took out a banknote from his sleeve, “Can you reveal a little?”
Night Faker took it with a smile. After looking around, he whispered into Sterling
Heizi’s ear: “I’m not too sure either, but judging from my lord’s intentions, this
matter is definitely done.”
After saying that, Night Faker looked down and did not say anything else.
Sterling Heizi nodded and left. He brought the information back and reported it.
Klaus Sterling sat in a pavilion with a displeased expression: “You can leave. I
want to see what he wants to do.”
