CHAPTER THREE

"Who could it be that knows me here". Andrew whispered to himself and turned back immediately to see the person who called him. "Blake Peterson?" Andrew whispered as he glanced at the man who had a disgusting sneer and a weird look laced on his face. "What is he doing here?" Andrew wondered as she stared intently at the man who also stared at him in surprise. Blake was Diana’s cousin's husband, the same man who made the Gilbert family humiliate and insult him at Claudia's 54th Birthday Celebration. The Gilberts had made him serve their guests on Claudia's birthday and Blake had deliberately gotten in Andrew's way when he had gone to serve and had pushed Andrew making all the drinks pour his cloth which had created a scene on that day. He had received a series of slaps from Claudia who insulted him and called him all sorts of names, she even compared Blake to him on that day saying that Blake was man enough to take care of his wife while he sat there as the pauper he was doing nothing. Andrew recalled the hurtful occurrence of that day and struggled off his thoughts as soon as she saw Blake walking towards him. Andrew's gaze was still fixed on the man, he could feel nothing but trouble coming his way. "What are you doing here?" Blake asked Andrew as a wicked grin appeared on his face. His eyes furrowed in disgust as he waited for Andrew's reply. Andrew stared at Blake with an unreadable expression and said nothing. He has no right to ask me what I am doing here, it isn't his business anyway. Andrew thought within himself, still staring at Blake whose gaze was still fixed on him. He saw Blake coming closer to him and he shifted back a little. "Didn't you hear my question? What are you doing here with this expensive bag in your hands". Blake creased his brows suspiciously. Andrew stared at Blake who was behaving like he was high on drugs, he blinked in confusion as he wondered what Blake was thinking and why he looked at him so suspiciously. "I know It's none of your business, but I came here to get my wife a gift". Andrew replied without a blink. Blake drew closer to him, he chuckled uncontrollably with his hand placed on his big stomach. "It's my business, I am the manager of this boutique. Are you sure you came to purchase a gift for your wife or you came to steal it", he asked as he redirected his eyes to the bag Andrew was holding. A wicked smile tugged at his lips as he stared at Andrew Murmuring started from the customers at the boutique, Andrew felt a surge of shame through his veins. "What? Steal What?" Andrew's eyes widened in surprise as he glared quizzically at Blake. "Do I look like a thief to you?" Andrew's fist clenched as he observed what Blake was trying to do. "I can't tell, desperation can make you go into what you are not". He said with a smirk. Andrew ignored him and turned to leave but Blake held his shirt. "I am asking you a quiet question as someone I know and you are trying to prove some stubbornness?". Blake asked with a darkened expression. "You have no right to ask me such, are you high on drugs?" Andrew questioned becoming angry. Can you take your hands off my shirt this minute? He beckoned to Blake who didn't give a damn at all. “Andrew, I know you can't afford to get this bag. Even if you spend your whole life working at the hotel it will be difficult for you to purchase it. How much do you have?” He asked sarcastically. Andrew knew he was telling the truth about him being unable to afford the man, so he placed the bag down. Blake giggled inwardly while maintaining a furry face. "Mabel"! Blake shouted in rage as one of the boutique attendants answered, running through him. "How careless could you be, what were you doing there? Are you blind, can't you see how he is dressed? You should have called security to take him away from here, he stinks. He is poor and couldn't afford anything in this shop, so you should direct him to a cheap shop down the road.” Blake said in disgust. “The next time you repeat such mistakes you will be fired.” "I am sorry sir, “ Mabel said with a calm voice. "Get out of here this instant!" Blake commanded with a thunderous tone. Mabel walked away with her head facing downward, Andrew stood still with his eyes fixed on the lady with a fallen demeanor. "Security!" He screamed in deep frustration. The two security guards rushed to where their manager was standing with Andrew. “Sir, you requested for us.” the senior security uttered with his head bent low and his hand clasped behind his back. “Take this thing out of here, and call the janitor to clean the building, he has contaminated the environment. I don't want his poor life to affect my prestigious customers,” he said furrowing his eyebrow in disdain. The customers laughed at Andrew, he gritted his teeth in anger. Without further ado, the security sprang into action. Andrew was gripped from his waist and was thrown out of the boutique by the two security guards. Andrew felt humiliated, he shook his head in disappointment as he stared at the boutique from the gate. Andrew had no other choice than to walk home with his face engulfed with shame and disgrace.
