“Where do you think you are taking me?” He grimaced as he looked at the hands of the woman who introduced herself as Perry. He was shocked by what the woman said but fortunately he finds his sense of reason. They are now walking towards the parking lot of the university and he can notice the gaping look of the students as they walk closer to a van. The woman signaled her to get in but he didn’t move. The woman frowned and sighed as if annoyed by her reluctance. “You don’t expect me to follow you blindly, right?” He asked stoically. “I know that this will happen but I have my hopes that you won’t be as skeptical as I know.” He heard the woman mumbled.  The woman released a deep breath and laughed sardonically. He just stared at her and didn’t even try to move. “You’ve been in love with Regine since forever and you threw up in front of Regine when you had the drinking party in college and you called me at 3:00 o’clock in the f*****g morning just to asked me what are you going to do?.” The woman paused as if letting him process the words that she said. “You believe me now?” the woman asked with full of sarcasm. What Pine can only do is gape his mouth as he heard his dark history. “You are really Perry.” ‘Thank goodness, I thought I needed to spill more dirt about you just to make you believe me that I am Perry. Now, let’s go in.” Perry opened the door and sat comfortably to one of the seats. “We can talk here.” It was Perry who broke the silence. Pine glanced to the front seat but Perry just shrugged as a partition was slowly rising. “They can’t hear us.” Perry assured. Pine brushed his hair with his hands and sighed heavily. “Perry, if you are here. How about Regine?” He asked hopefully. Pine waited for a moment and saw the unwillingness of Perry to answer his question. “Pine, are you not even going to ask me. How am I doing.?” Perry asked sullenly. “How are you doing.?” He asked. “I’m good and as for your first question. I don’t know where Regine is.” “You can’t find her but you easily found me.?” “Well, let just say that I have this feeling to know where my family is.” “How about this, I have a feeling that you are not telling me the truth.” He paused and he noticed the subtle fidgeting of Perry, an indication that she is hiding something. “but well this is our first meeting in this kind of situation so I left you off the hook but be sure to be ready” A relieved smile was evident on Perry’s face. “Tell me, what do you know about our situation.?” Pine asked as they are now in the overlooking private bar of Perry’s mansion. Perry sipped her drink and looked outside. “This world is a place that we know but a little different from the world that we knew.” “A little.?” He guffawed. “Look at me, Perry. I am a girl. How is this little.” he clenched this hand that is holding a glass of scotch. “I think this is better than being dead.” Perry reasoned out. He gritted his teeth as he was reminded how Perry died. “Who do you think did that?” He asked as if seeking for an answer in the wind. “Does it matter.?” Perry shrugged and laughed dryly while staring blankly in the starless night. Pine finished the remains of his drink and stared blankly through the darkness of the night. “To the new life.?” Perry poured him a drink.  Pine looked at his glass and clinked his glass to Perry.
