Chapter SixteenPete and Josh pulled away from the service station. After pooling their resources the night before, they found they only had enough money for some petrol and a few sandwiches. With a room in a motel being out of the question, they had been forced to spend the night in the car.
“Where do we go from here, Josh? Should we stay on the main road or try to find another country track?”
On the main road, they might blend in with the commuter traffic, but there could be more army personnel around. On the other hand, if they were pulled up on a country road, no matter what they said, they could be hauled in for questioning. After all, people on the run usually take the back roads.
