They heard footsteps approaching from further down the hall. The Duty Officer must be returning to his post. “You leave first. He still can't see me standing here. I'll wait until he's nearer before I follow you out,” whispered Arthur. He nodded towards the Cabinet Room. “They all know you left before me, it would be best if the Duty Officer sees it that way, too.” Charles nodded. He hadn't thought of that, but it made sense, they couldn't be too careful. “See you again sometime?” he whispered, as he began to move away. The intonation in his voice indicated it was a question rather than a statement. “We'll work something out, but don't ring me.” Arthur hesitated. “I often have lunch at Luigi's in Pall Mall.
