Chapter EightPulling a handkerchief from his pocket, Pete mopped his forehead. “This is hopeless.” Josh threw himself down onto one of the boulders. “We've been heaving at these wretched rocks for over an hour and we don't seem to have made any difference at all.” Pete peered at his watch. They had actually been working off and on for almost four hours. Josh had been proved right about one thing, the entrance remained well and truly blocked. He sat down next to his friend. “We'll take a break before trying again.” He glanced around the dimly lit cave. “Perhaps this isn't the only way out.” Following Pete's gaze, Josh looked towards the tunnels. The darkness loomed out at him and he felt the blood drain from his face. “You don't mean we might have to go through those tunnels,” he gulped
