Chapter FourEarly morning shoppers in the small market town of Wooler turned their heads in surprise, when Sarah brought her car to a screeching halt a few yards from the police station. They were unused to such scenes in the quiet town and a few people clucked their tongue at her rashness. Sarah would have parked closer to the station if an enormous furniture removal vehicle hadn't been blocking the way. As it was, she found herself forced to squeeze herself and the children between two large packing cases lodged on the pavement, before reaching the station entrance.
