Amethyst POV
"Daemon we are going to be late for work"
" Ok ... I am almost done in the shower."
I walk to the bathroom counter and sit on it.
"So... Are you gonna tell me where you went last night" I say channeling my emotion into moving the steam around my hands to train my control.
Daemon peeks out the shower door. Goddess he shouldn't be this sexy while I am annoyed with him.
" I just had to do something" He says.
"Mhmm" I say then start channeling the annoyance I am feeling into heat in the water coming from the shower.
"Ouch! Amethyst that's hot !" he says obviously pissed.
" Wrong answer try again " I say smirking.
He turns off the shower and gets out without drying off. I deep breathe trying to keep my emotions in check from wanting him .
He glares " Can you not practice your ability control on me "
" Can you not practice your evasion and lies on me " I retort.
He walks over wraps his arms around me " Ugh Daemon stop your still wet " My shirt getting all wet he's breaking my control by clouding my mind with his proximity.
" Then calm down your eyes are glowing again and the steam is moving around getting hotter in here" He says kissing my neck. One of the mirrors behind me cracks.
" Dammit Daemon" I say frustrated.
He smiles whispering in my ear, " I had orders from the council last night to take out a rogue who was conspicuously killing"
I glare at him for a minute then say " Don't hide stuff from me. I hate it "
" OK baby" As he grabs a towel after kissing my cheek.
I get dressed in a pencil skirt with a black shirt, matching cardigan, sheer scarf and black heels. Daemon comes out of his closet in a sexy three piece suit. I bite my lip staring at him.
" Don't look at me like that or we will never get to work Amethyst "
" Very well Alpha Cain" I say with attitude wagging my finger, "We need to go , you have three meetings this morning and I need to get back to working on those micro tracking chips. " I say to him tossing him his car keys.
We head down to the garage and get in his car. I sat their fussing with my tablet when i notice something.
" Daemon... Someone tried to get into your servers last night"
" How do you know? " He says.
" I updated your firewall a few days ago. They only made it through two levels before my death bot got into their network uploading a virus. "
" I have to go to these meetings this morning it will get my software in the hands of the FBI and FSB so you will have an back to figure out who is coming into contact with the diplomats from the Vampire cult. Can you figure out who was trying to get in? "
" Yeah", I say " but it make take me a little time, just worry about your meetings and getting these multibillion dollar contracts signed"
Daemon parks the car in the garage, walks around opening my door, and I step out taking his arm as we make our way into the building.
"Good Morning Mr. Cain, Ms. Travorsk" Says the ladies at the desk and the security guard.
" Good morning" Daemon and I say at the same time and then walk into the office shutting the door.
Daemon sits at his desk and I sit at mine turning on our computers. I hear Knockings at the office door.
" Come in Nick" Daemon calls. How does he know its Nick
'Mind link' I hear in my head.
" D**mit Daemon get out of my head" I always forget we can do that weird mate bond thing.
' Oh, Come on baby don't be like that'
" Seriously ? I'm going to get you."
" Ok, I'm done " He scoffs as Nick stands there in the office looking at us like we have gone mad.
" Someone tried to bypass our encryption last night. Amethyst was able to stop it but we need to confirm who. She will be working on it today ,while I go finalize these deals. Stay with her and protect her just in case" Daemon says.
" Yes Alpha " Nick says.
" I don't need to be protected in your secure office" I question.
" It makes me feel better just please don't fight me Amethyst, just once.
" Very well" I grumble.
" Ok I'm going." Daemon pulls me out of the chair ,wraps me in his arms and kisses me greedily.
" I love you Amethyst "
" And I you" I nod, and he walks out the door.
Nick walks over and secures the room for me. It's time, let's figure this out. They can run but they can't hide from me.
