The prospect of having a child is terrifying for a lot of reasons.     First off, there’s the fact that I’m growing an actual human being that I’ll have to physically push out of my body.  The idea of labor, or my body stretching to its limits, tearing even—it’s terrifying.  And normally, that would be the scariest part, right?  The inevitable pain.  Lingering discomfort postpartum.  The potential for complications, before, during, and even after delivery.     But even more than that, there’s the emotional aspect of it.  Being prepared to take on such a large responsibility.  Understanding the level of commitment you must now have to a small creature who depends on you for their very survival.     Am I ready?     Can anybody ever really say they’re ready to become a parent?     And th
