Cold—Kai’s teeth chattered and, vaguely, he felt his limp body being dragged across the dirt. Grass was passing by his head at an alarming rate and, blurrily, he made out the female pulling him across the Earth. Dizzy, his vision still blurred, he called out to Yuni—
The girl stopped flipping him onto his back, her hand clamping over his throat.
It wasn’t Yuni at all, he quickly realized.
Dark, voluminous hair framing her beautiful face, her skin a deep ebony, oval bedroom eyes nearly obsidian—“Mate,” he gasped.
“I should just kill you,” she hissed, both hands clamping over his throat.
Kai couldn’t breathe much, his hand gripping her small wrists in his hands. “Why?”
