My dream of being with three men at the same time on a passionate winter night on the beach with the moonlight above us is immediately shattered when Grayson comes out of that house followed by a thin, short, extremely pretty boy wearing a skirt just as short as mine.
I wouldn't be opposed to having a thing with him, but I think he'd rather be with Gray or Bax than be with me. And I don't blame him.
Gray opens the back door and the boy slips in beside Fiona, smiling very big and greeting her very enthusiastically, as if they were lifelong friends, then he climbs on top of her to sit in the middle and kiss Bax on the cheek very noisily. His scent screams omega, which fills me with intrigue.
I read about male omegas in the books I researched, but according to these books they are extremely rare. Wow. It's like being in front of a celebrity.
"Ah, how I've missed you guys," the boy sighs and peeks between the seats to approach me, "Hi, it's a great, great pleasure to meet you."
"Hi, my name is Midn..."
"I know who you are," he interrupts me and kisses my cheek the same way he did with Baxter. Gray starts the car at that moment, "I've heard and read a lot about you, but don't worry, I don't believe the things they say, but sometimes you just can't stop reading the drama."
"Thank you?"
"You're welcome," he replies, with a smile full of confidence and then turns his head to Gray, "How's the plan going, do you know who the traitor is yet?"
"The plan has been postponed a bit because Miss Virginity over here," he gestures towards me and says 'virginity' like it's a bad word, "Can't go seduce anyone, so she's basically ruining everything."
"But it would be so easy for you to seduce someone!" exclaims Fiona, pushing Hans a little to look at me with disbelieving eyes.
"I've told her, but she needs a little training. Don't worry, I've volunteered for the job," Gray adds and gives me a wink, then turns back, "Hey, Bax Do you realize you can't join in the conversation because you don't wan-"
I put my hands on his face and turn him back to the front to bring his attention back to the road because I don't want to die yet and I don't need him to be even more distracted than he normally is.
"I'm sure he understands what's going on, you don't need to turn to him to give him another one of your lectures," I scold him, ignoring the look of annoyance he gives me, "Besides, my 'training' is going well. Baxter and Grayson have kissed me, I'm sure in a little more time I'll feel comfortable enough to do what I need to do and get the information."
"Bax kissed me once," Hans boasts with a mischievous grin and earns a very light punch from Baxter on his arm that makes him squeal, "What's wrong with you, savage? I'm an omega, you can't treat me like that."
"That's not true, it wasn't a kiss" Baxter defends himself, "I don't like men."
Too bad.
"I'm not a man," Hans fights scowling at Bax's hands, "I don't quite know what you said but it sounds like you were calling me a man. I know very well that this sign means 'man'."
He waves it over and over in Bax's face to prove his point.
"Stop picking on him and sit down properly," Grayson orders, this time without turning back. Hans rolls his eyes but leans back in the seat with his arms crossed. I stop laughing and turn to him to get to know him better.
A few minutes later, Gray stops at a liquor store and returns with four bottles. Fiona squeals with excitement when she sees them and Hans claps his hands in a super girly way. I have to admit it hurts a little that he's more feminine than I am, but I guess I can learn from him.
"Look, Mid, I bought this one for you," Gray tells me as he closes the door and holds out a bottle of orange liqueur towards me, "The guy said it was a very, very sweet wine. I figured you'd like that."
"Thank you, how thoughtful," I thank him, grabbing everything he has in his hands to help him and then I open the bottle he bought for me as soon as the car starts. I take a small swig careful not to spill everywhere and grimace because it's not as sweet as I'd like it to be. But it's much better than tequila or beer so I guess it's not so bad, "It tastes good."
"I'm glad, but put that away, we don't need anyone to see it," he asks and I quickly do.
As I set the bottles at my feet and settle into my seat again, Gray puts a warm hand on my leg. He touches me just above the knee quite naturally, as if he does it all the time. I swallow and stare at his hand, wondering how that simple touch feels so good.
Maybe it's not the touch itself but what it means: that he wants to touch me because he likes me, because I'm pretty and because what happened between us yesterday has left us both in a permanent state of desire. That leaves me so dazzled that I manage to ignore the panic as his hand begins to slowly move up my thigh while he chats about something casual with the guys.
By the time Gray has reached the top of my thigh, I'm dead. I'm breathing very hard and almost shaking in my seat, hoping the guys in the back don't notice how obvious my arousal is. Gray's fingers move very, very slowly even higher and I spread my legs a little so he can now touch the inside of my thighs. When he does that I have to bite my lip because I had no idea that part of my body was so sensitive.
Gray's naughty fingers are drawing on that sensitive part and I am so stimulated that it literally wouldn't take more than thirty seconds to take me to a very special and fun place that I have only taken myself to. And I don't know what's wrong with me but I don't think I even care that we're in a car full of people. However, all good things come to an end quickly and it ends when Gray's cell phone starts ringing and he has to take his hand away to answer it.
That makes me angry.
I want his hand there again.
"Hey, Gemma what's up?" he answers, a big smile on his face. My mood worsens, "Did you see my victory? Yes, beating Jake is special... oh, I had no idea you were there... wait, there's a traffic patrol nearby. I'll hand you over to Mid and you can give her your message."
Gray almost tosses his cell phone at me and I put it to my ear.
"Hi, Gemma. I'm sorry but Gray is driving and he has too many tickets already to risk anything," I say and Gemma is quiet for several seconds, "Hello? Did you hang up?"
"No, I'm still here. Uh... Where is he driving to?"
"To the beach!" I answer, making my voice squeakier and happier to make her a little envious because I'm getting a ride to the beach and she's not. I hope it hurts, "He was so happy about winning that he demanded a party there."
"A party, mmm, I see. And who was invited, if I may ask? Because I know someone who wasn't invited: me."
I think I'm a sociopath because her obvious unhappiness brings me far more joy than it should.
"Ah... don't worry, calling this a party is just a formality. It's just Bax, Hans, a friend of mine and me here," I say with innocence in my voice, "We're just going to drink and hang out together on the beach, nothing interesting. Don't worry, I can take care of Gray for you."
"Of course you will," she mumbles under her breath, "It's okay. I just wanted to congratulate him on winning, but now that I'm talking to you I'd like to invite you to a sleepover tomorrow at my house. Just you and me. What do you say? To get to know each other better."
"Yes!" I answer immediately, with a big genuine smile, "I've always wanted to go to a sleepover. I have one with Angie almost every day but it's not the same because we live together."
"Yeah, it'll be really cool," she mumbles, "Then we'll set it all up tomorrow. Bye, have fun."
"I don't think going on a sleepover with Gemma would be very entertaining," Hans says once I hang up the call, "She's kind of boring."
"She's not boring," Gray defends her with a frown and puts his hand on my thigh again, this time with more precision and less delicacy. Like I’m just a hand holder, "She's very funny, but only when she gives herself permission to be. That only happens with people she likes. And she's never liked you."
"Of course not," Hans rolls his eyes, "Not many people like me, to be honest. They say I'm weird. But that's no excuse for Gemma, she's bitter and boring unless you're having sëx with her, apparently. And she's very jealous of omegas even if she doesn't look it so watch your back, Mid."
"I know. Don't worry about me," I say, reassuring him with a smile, "But there's no need to think about it. We just have to have fun and celebrate isn't it, Gray?"
"Yes!" he exclaims and then squeezes the steering wheel hard, shouting with excitement as we drive onto the beach. We all catch his enthusiasm because even though it's nighttime and everything is dark, just being here is cool.
That is, until we get out of the car and realize why no one else is here even though the whole place is super nice. The wind is so hard and icy that it doesn't allow us to move for several seconds. My bare legs start to feel like two long ice cubes.
"We didn't think this through very well" Bax complains and I have no choice but to agree.
