A DEAL WITH A HUMAN.
As Troy entered the library, his eyes sharply sticked to his demon book at the top end, second row of his shelf. He walked to the shelf and brought the book down and was scaling through pages, but found no clue to why his powers flickered.
He slammed the book shut, dropped it back, and walked out disappointed.
Heading to his room, he stood by the door and had flashes of the incident the day he lost his powers to a human. Human, to his speculations, was weak, dependant, clueless, and desperate. He braced up and decided to pay her a visit at her company at her work close time.
But before then, he needed to go seal a contract that was due. He hurriedly stepped out into the light of the day, not having an idea about the spark of not having his powers could create. He headed straight for DOYERS STREET to meet up with his clients, Mr. Alan, who signed a contract to become famous in a football club, which he was.
As he was walking through the hidden, curved, and foggy road, he was determined, filled with great strength and determined to seal the contract. He lost hold of what was going on with him as he approached a nearby store where Alan usually comes to check his goods.
Alan immediately hid himself in a shallow end. Troy saw him and went after him. As he drew near to Alan, he brought out a scroll.
Alan, seeing this, negotiated to himself, he's a demon with no powers, bringing out a scroll with no flames, as when he offered the deal. So he braved up and whistled out of the corner of the store.
His gangs came out, all rushing at Troy like angry bees.
Troy, still standing, couraged up and attempted to fight back, but couldn't flinched a punch without feeling hurt. The impatient gang beat him almost to a pulp. He narrowly escaped, badly beaten.
He couldn't run fast. He hated the day he tried saving Dariella. He hated being half human. He decided to go see Dariella immediately to sign off the deal.
Dariella, in the office, found it hard to settle the fact that she has an encounter with Troy, who's no human but a spiritual being, and has his demonic tools on her.
She kept thinking of ways to avoid him and getting rid of his tattoo, but couldn't think straight. She decided that by 5 p.m., she'll head home to rest early and save herself some stress.
She also went through the name of the person the chairlady arranged for her and found out there was a mistake, but couldn't place what went wrong.
Troy made his way to the company and walked straight to Dariella's offices. Ranged with anger, he flung the door wide open, went up straight to her, and held her hands forcefully and said, "Come, it's urgent. I have something to show you."
Surprised, she stood up and hurriedly arranged the scattered files on her desk and took her bag along with her.
They hurried to her car.
"I'll drive," he said.
She agreed.
They got in, and he zoomed off.
A mile away from the company, still surprised, she stared at him and said, "It's unlike you being polite, and what is it do you have to show me?"
He looked her at and asked, "Do you trust me?"
She got lost for a moment and wondered what was going on with him and replied with a smile. For once, she agreed to trust someone, which was unlike her.
She asked herself if she's actually doing the right thing but never gave herself an answer.
She said, "Yes, I do trust you," to him.
He said to her, "Give me your hand."
And she did immediately.
The tattoo on her hand clicked, and it showed a bright yellow-coloured light like that of a firelight, and the car automatically sped up, driving towards DOYERS STREET.
She noticed the thick darkness that hovered around. The foggy looks also terrified her. She held onto his hands tightly, and he stopped the car at the entrance.
They both highlighted down and walked through the scary night, heading to the store.
Luckily for him, Alan was there, and he sighted them and laughed loud and said, "You've actually came for another round. I'll be glad to entertain you, and by the way, the woman you're with, we'll get her."
He whistled again, and his gangsters came out, rushing at them.
Troy took hold of Dariella's hand again, and his powers came on. He made a sound, "Booooooom!"
Laughing horrifically, with his eyes covered with flames, pointing at them, they all fell, grasping for breath, and died.
The scroll disappeared in flames.
Dariella saw what happened and became scared, placing her head on his chest.
He said to her, "Don't be scared. Let's go."
They turned back, heading towards the car, and drove off.
While heading home, they all fell in silence, not knowing what to say to each other.
He stopped the car and highlighted down, saying goodbye to her.
A strange feeling came up. She made sure she fought it hard. She wanted to be with him more, but as a prestige woman, she couldn't let her ego get flawed with.
She drove off as soon as she could, heading home.
Troy got home and went straight into his room. He sat on his chair close to his table, where he had a candle lit. He placed his head on the table with no delay, and thoughts kept running through his mind.
He raised his head, looking at the candle lit.
He whispered, "I have to keep her safe and alive as I look for a way to get my tattoo back."
Still lost in thought, his P.A. opened the door.
Looking at his master's face, he said with a brim smile, "I've checked her background. Dariella Anderson, a 27-year-old talented and virtuous lady, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Greg, who died in an accident 27 years ago.
"Greg was known to be the manager in the chairlady's company but died together with his wife after he had a clash with the chairlady about a charity funding case. She was then adopted by the chairlady, who appointed her C.E.O. of J.P. MORGAN CHASE.
"She's ambitious, hardworking, talented, and a reserved lady. That's all the details I could gather."
Troy was dumbfounded, expecting to hear a mystic story about her being a witch or a demon hunter. Got disappointed, he asked Daniel to leave.
He quickly left and closed the door.
Troy had so many ideas flowing through his brain. He then figured out a way he could at least attempt to try to get his tattoo back.
He took his phone, placed a call over to Dariella. The phone rang and was on call. He spoke immediately, as if something was going to happen if he didn't speak.
"Tomorrow by 3 p.m., CORNEY ISLAND BEACH, BROOKLYN. I'll be there waiting."
He hung up, not hesitating a bit.
Dariella sat on her bed with fury.
"How is he ordering me around with no emotion? Such audacity he has. Tomorrow, I'll go meet him at CORNEY'S ISLAND and hear more of what he has to say."
She laid softly on her bed and slept.
Alarm sounding, she woke up, dragging her body, rushed to the bathroom, brushed her teeth, bathed, and took breakfast.
She made sure she wore one of her most elegant dresses, a silk pink gown decorated in flowered embroidery. She took her silver heel and wore it, decorated her hair with pins all over, and wore a makeup that speaks her elegance and headed out for work.
She took her keys with melody that ran through her head to her lips. She was ready for another day at work.
She drove off.
At work, she felt this happy chills flowing through her bloodstreams but kept wondering why she feels so happy after receiving a call from Troy, which includes her seeing another boastful display of him.
She manoeuvred her car and parked well. She highlighted down.
Her P.A., Georgina, already waiting for her, took her bag after she highlighted down in grand style.
She flung her hair, shaking it, and gave Georgina a warm smile.
Georgina, who was wondering what was actually going wrong, followed her, and they both left the garage, walking straight towards the office.
Troy suggested he wants to look his best, enchanting, handsome, and brave. He brought out his best suit from the wardrobe and checked them on him, looking like a prince charming.
He found a like to the suit and kept it aside.
It was already 3 p.m. Troy was there before then, waiting for her.
Dariella quickly put her stuffs in order, called on her P.A., who assisted her in carrying her bag, and left.
She opened the door of her car and entered in and drove off.
She headed straight for the Island.
She got there in time, quickly parked her car, and stepped down.
She caught a glimpse of Troy and went his direction.
Troy, who was observing the beach, turned around and saw her coming.
He smiled at her as she drew closer to him.
He drew his hand to her, and she took hold of his hand, and he kissed her hand warmly.
She wondered why they stood at the end of the shore close to the water.
She asked him why they were at the end of the shore.
He diverted from her question, avoiding not to trigger her from turning back.
He said in a sharp tone, "I want to show you something, but first I'll have to blindfold you."
Though scared, she agreed, and he blindfolded her.
He held her hand where the tattoo wasn't on and pushed her into the water.
He dived into the water also, suppressing her, holding her hands, trying to check if the tattoo would return, but all to no avail.
Dariella, struggling with the weight he mounted on her, grasping for breath, kicked him hard.
He let go of her hand, and she swimmed out of the water.
She came out coughing her breath out, crying.
Troy swimmed out also, going close to her. He bent over to her and said pitifully, and feeling sorry, he said, "I'm sorry, Dariella. I didn't mean to do this, just that I have to look for a way to get my tattoo back, and if I told you about it, you won't accept to come."
He said, taming her hair.
She got angry, stood up, and shouted at him, "Why do everyone want me dead? What have I done to deserve this? I never asked for your tattoo. You know that."
She left angrily, drove off in fury, heading home in tears.
While driving, she noticed that she was being followed.
This time, fear digged into her.
She stopped her car at an unknown car station, came out, and started running.
The unknown follower hurriedly stopped his bike and went after her.
When he was almost close to her, he shot at her.
Hearing the gunshot, she froze and stood still, waiting for death, cold hands.
While she left, Troy felt so sorry for her. Seeing what he did scared and hurt her, he followed her to make sure she was safe.
When the gun was shot at her, he ran immediately and held her hand, covering her in his arms where the tattoo was, and the bullet broke into pieces.
She lifted up her head and saw Troy at her side.
She burst into tears and said bitterly, "Everyone wants me dead. Why am I always followed?"
Troy, she called him, "I'm scared, I'm scared. The next moment I might die. What happens to your tattoo when I die?"
Troy, who was still holding her in his hands, said softly, "Don't worry. You'll be fine."
She said in a commanding tone, "I'm offering a deal to you. Since you want your tattoo back, I'll have to stay alive till you figure out a way to get it without you killing me. Be my bodyguard. Be with me everywhere I go. Only at this reason will your tattoo be safe."
Troy, surprised at the words she spoke, looked straight into her eyes and didn't know what to say to her.
Would he accept a deal from a human?
He's into contact, and here he was, a human offering him a contract.
He felt odd.
Should he say yes or say no?
Those were his thoughts…
