  The next morning. Willa blinked herself awake, her long lashes fluttering like a baby bird’s wings.   For a moment, she stared at the ceiling, soft white with tiny golden stars. She wondered why it looked so familiar yet not the same as her usual room.   Then, it hit her.   “This is Mommy’s house! Mommy’s house!”   Her little face brightened instantly, cheeks puffing into a rosy smile. She rolled to her side and giggled at the sight of her pink room, “It’s my pink room!”   It was a room where her mother sent pictures of it being decorated with ribbons, soft pillows, a white canopy bed, and shelves filled with plush toys.   “Ohh…” she whispered dramatically, tapping her chin with her tiny finger. “So pretty.
