  The night air shimmered with a strange, electric energy. Looking up, the moon was shining brightly, making light into the dark forest.   The first round of the Moon Gathering Tournament ended an hour ago, yet the forest clearing was still alive with murmurs, laughter, and the scent of wolf blood and adrenaline. Five tents had been erected on the lush, moonlit field, each large enough to house an entire pack, glowing softly under enchanted lanterns.   Riana and her Shadow Hero pack were assigned to the farthest tent, near the cliffs overlooking the misty valley. The walk there was long, but her wolves didn’t seem to mind.
