Chapter 7
"Till d*ath do us part"
Scarlet sat up as his words replayed again for the 15th time since she was led back to her room against her will.
It had taken just a...
"Lead the miss to her room" To get two guys to emerge from the darkness and escort her out.
Who was he now?
From her observations and experience... It seems they, both the maids and guard and the silent shadows all answer to Alejandro.
Master Castillos, some call him.
While others call him Boss.
They don't look like normal workers too.
Perhaps she should ask Fiona but it might look weird if she's suddenly asking about Alejandro's job.
He told her once, said he worked under a close family and that he is under training and that was all he said but that was all she had asked...
Scarlet sighed.
One thing is certain though.
Alejandro owns the estate and seems to hold enough power to keep her locked in his estate.
But what if she succeeded in leaving the estate, could she leave Spain?
She slowly got to her feet and started pacing to and fro.
Her phone pings, interrupting her thoughts and plans.
She goes to check it.
Her editor had asked if she saw his email and asking for a response. She quickly replied with.
*Sorry for the late response Ralph, things are kinda tight here as I haven't properly settled but i promise you two chapters tomorrow and send the rest the day after.*
Once sent, she dropped her phone back on the bed and grabbed her laptop.
Putting on her headphone and turning it on, it automatically continues her last music.
One last time by Ariana Grande.
Once properly cosied up in her bed, she began to write.
An hour later, Scarlet closed the laptop with a sigh.
She needed air.
Fresh air.
She opened the door and stepped into the hallway.
Two guards immediately straightened.
Scarlet blinked.
"Are you serious?"
One of them bowed slightly.
"Orders of Señor Castillos."
Scarlet laughed bitterly.
"What? You’re guarding the hallway now?"
“Yes, señora.”
Scarlet suddenly felt like crying.
She ignored them and stryes walking but they followed.
She halt, then turn sharply.
"There a garden? " She asked hoping they get her and making a mental note to register for an online Spanish classes when she get back to her room.
They nodded and she stepped aside. Gesturing that they lead the way but only one guard led while the second remained behind her.
Once again, she released an audible sigh.
After walking for what felt like forever, Scarlet felt relieved when they finally came into an opening...
No it was...
Magical!
The garden stretched out like a hidden oasis, tucked behind the estate’s towering walls.
Hedges sculpted into neat curves framed winding cobblestone paths, and bursts of flowers...reds, pinks, and yellows, punctuated the green like jewels.
In the center, a stone fountain gurgled softly, sunlight catching the water droplets, sending tiny rainbows into the air.
Near the fountain, Fiona stood barefoot, brushing dirt from her hands onto her apron, a small spade lying at her feet. She paused to lean over the basin, watching the water ripple around her reflection, her expression calm.
Scarlet smiled involuntarily as her childhood memories flashed before her eyes.
She saw her younger self carrying a basket full of carrots she had harvested, while Fiona was busy planting new cabbages.
"Aunt Fi!! Aunt Fi!! Look what I found!! " She called excitedly. The woman looked up and smiled.
Wiping her hands on her apron before ruffling the girl's hair fondly.
She had frowned and backed away.
"Aww! Your hand is still dirty Aunt Fi! You just gave me germs from the soil." She retorted and the woman laughed.
Scarlet remember Alex stealing two carrot off her basket, just when she was about to hand it to the woman.
She remember whining when he ran away.
She also remember seeking revenge by using his favorite cup. Having a Vengeful laugh while he whines too.
Now the Alex she knows... The Alex she came to for comfort is trapping her in his estate.
He couldn't even tell her he owns one before she saw for her self.
Well, what could she expect from a guy who could even invite his best friend to his own wedding.
Now he won't listen to her and wants to...
She slapped a hand over her face in frustration.
"She shouldn't be sulking but should rather, be trying to convince Alex of how bad they would be together.
She needs to make him see reason.
She can't do that to him.
Date him, get engaged or even worse...get married and then when the excitement wear off, frustration crash in and they would argue and fight and then split up.
No! Before that happens, she needed to let him...
Make him understand and they will be back to being the bestest of friends.
She smiled at her plan.
But first, she needed to ask Fiona about Alejandro's new personality and change.
That in mind, she walks to Fiona who looks deeply engrossed in her plants.
"Seems my second mum got herself an even bigger garden"
Fiona turned with a bright smile.
Her face and cloth a little wet from the fountain spray.
"And my baby girl is even more beautiful than I remembered. Four years and your breasts have become bigger. Oh Dios! My daughter is more than mature." Fiona cooed, watching a red faced scarlet with a proud gaze.
"I hope you've eaten, No?" Fiona asked, her facial now worried.
Scarlet's stomach grumbled as if to answer the question.
"¡Madre mía! (My goodness) I came to your room but you were absent. Alejandro said you were busy so I let you be... That i***t son of mine" Fiona fumes looking towards the exit.
She suddenly grabs scarlet.
"Let's get you filled this instant. A shower can wait" She said pulling a smiling Scarlet along.

"May I ask a question? " Scarlet said taking her now empty plate to the zinc for washing.
Fiona hum for her to ask.
"Aunt Fi… what exactly does Alejandro do?"
Fiona pauses while pouring herself a juice.
"Why do you ask?"
"Because apparently he owns....
She gesture around with her hand.
" All these "
Fiona sighs.
"Scarlet… Alejandro is not the same young man who left four years ago."
Scarlet frowned.
The words sounds familiar because Alejandro said the same.
She opened her mouth to ask what she meant before...
"Talking about me? " His voice cuts through the air.
He gave his mother a kiss on the head before approaching her and stopping too close.
She step back to give distance and saw his jaw flex.
Looking him in the eyes was a big mistake and she flinched.
Slowly looking away.
"I'll go shower and rest for a bit" Fiona said preparing to leave.
She waited and with a hard glare directed at her son said..
"I'll have a word with you when you're done here."
She gave scarlet a hand squeeze before leaving.
"Let me guess... The guards are not enough? You wanted to see how miserable I look with your own eyes."
He just stared and for a moment, scarlet thought he would just leave but he did the opposite.
She back away as he approaches.
His dark eyes never leaving her's.
"Trust me, if you lay your hands on me, you'll regret it." She threatened when she reach a dead end.
His smile was slow and then it was gone.
"I am yours to do with as you like Scarlet. That's why I never complained when you use me as your Cry pillow whenever those Ba*tards do you dirty. I am all yours, just as you belong to me. Next to me and only with me. I am the only one who can protect you. Just accept and give it a...
"You are mad Alejandro Castillos. Very mad!! I don't belong to anyone!! Okay? What happened to you for F**k sake Alex!!" Scarlet yelled, tears finding their way down her cheeks.
Alejandro leaned closer, his dark eyes locked on hers, dangerous and smoldering. Without a word, he ran his thumb along her cheek, catching the stray tear. But then he leaned in further, and his tongue grazed the same spot, tracing the path of her tears.
His moves, intentional.
Why does she want him to kiss her?
“You taste like fire and stubbornness,” he murmured, voice low and rough, brushing his lips against hers just for a heartbeat, before pulling back enough to let her catch her breath.
"You belong here. Next to me… until I say otherwise."
Scarlet swallows, heart racing. She knows she can’t argue.
She just stared on as he left her there...
Tougue tied.
Fiona watches silently from the corner. When she saw Alex move, she dispersed silently.
