Every table have many dishes. Every houses are full of people who's enjoying the spirit of Christmas. The Christmas trees were decorated by colorful holiday lights and with different designs that adds to the beauty of it. The gifts are ready. You can hear loud music in every corner of the village. Everyone is excited to celebrate it. But no one knows the danger that will happen during those moments. Predators hunt their weak preys during the unexpected moment. No one knows when will they gonna attack. So if you can't feel their presence, it will be your dead end. "Pauly, get out of your room! You're taking too much time on your books, it's time to have fun!" Pauly just rolled her eyes. She really hate spending time with other people. She's introvert in other words. If she will be given a chance to choose between parties and alone time, she will always shout alone time. She really loves to read books. Especially about mysteries and detective stories. She's not into romance nor fantasy because it's too boring for her. She's not a kid anymore nor a typical teen age girl who loves romance. "Did you hear me Pauliariana?!" She rolled her eyes again when her mother shout for the nth time. She lazily stood up and put the book she was reading on her shelf. If her mother did not shout her full name, she would probably reading until now. She don't have sisters nor brothers so no one can save her from her mother. Her mother don't have someone who she can disturb except her. So it's hard for Pauliariana to escape to her mother. Maybe for others it is better to be the only child but for Pauliariana, she wants to have even just one sibling. She may love peace and being alone but having someone you can talk with aside from your mom or friends is different. She sighed. She felt sad just by thinking those things. It's Christmas but she felt so empty and lonely all of the sudden. She wasn't done with her thoughts when her mother starts shouting her name again. She just shook her head. "Pauliaria—" she cut the words of her mother by shouting back. "I'm coming Mom!" She does not need to change her dress anyway. She already wear a decent outfit incase her mother force her to come down which is not imposible to happen because it happened already. "Why are you not here—" "Wait, Mom! I need to change my outfit!" It was just a reason of course. She just really do not want to go down because she knew that there's a lot of people out there and she is not comfortable with that. She really hates parties and people. Pauly took a deep breath before opening her room door. For her, it feels like she will face a battle. Well, it is really a battle. Battle with her fear. Fear of being with so many people around you. Having social anxiety is so hard. Especially if you are introvert with social anxiety. All you think and feel is those eyes around and looking at you. "I hate this feeling," Pauly mumbled to her self. For how many times, she rolled her eyes again. It seems like a habit to her. The moment she stepped out of her room, the cold breeze welcomed her. It gently touch her skin making her goosebumps for no reason. She felt something strange. Something unexplicable. She looked at the window at the edge of their hallway. The white curtains are swaying. Her eyebrows met in the middle. She remembered closing it before locking herself at her room. She didn't clearly remember it but she knows she already closed it. It feels weird. Maybe her mother opened it, she thought. But she can't hide the nervousness inside her. The corner where the window located is dim. It's hard to see if there is someone or none. But if there is someone who open their window, she could have notice or hear it from her room. She didn't hear and feel anything so it's impossible. She shook her head. Maybe she's just overthinking and being paranoid. Maybe it was just the effects of her nervousness. No one could enter their house easily because her mother always assured their safety. Their visitors can't go in their second floor since they are all busy in first floor. And it's Christmas, no one will think to trespass because there is celebration. Places are crowded too. Why would they risk their life, right? Pauly just decided to go there to close that window again. While slowly walking towards that window, she felt her heart was beating wildly. She can't explain the reason thou. She only knew that she is really nervous right now. When she was almost near the window, someone passed by behind her and she felt that. She turnaround, hoping to see someone. But instead of seeing someone, a loud music coming from their big speakers downstairs resonated the whole area, makes her jump because of shock. Sometimes timing is not always good. It feels like she's the protagonist on the horror or mystery stories she read. If that's the case, this would be her memorable Christmas. Pauly just shook her head and continued to close the window. Even her heart was beating so fast, she continued to close it. Little did she know that someone was just waiting for a right time to attack her. Once the prey is unalert, predator will attack. Just right after she close the window, someone grab her and covered her mouth with a piece of cloth that knocks her senses. Before her eyes totally closed, she blurry saw the one who did it. She can't believe what she saw. Who would believe it? The man was wearing a santa claus attire but with a creepy face. He's not the expected Santa that everyone wishes to meet.
