Chapter 34

1041 Words

On the way back, Shirley drove while curiously questioning Asher, who was sitting in the backseat. "Asher, what exactly happened at the casino? Why were those people so scared of you? What did you do?" Shirley felt increasingly puzzled. Asher had become so mysterious, igniting an intense curiosity within her. Asher wasn't sure how to explain, so he decided to make something up. "I didn't do anything. I just reasoned with them, and in the end, they were so ashamed by my logic that they bowed to repent." "Cut the crap," Shirley replied, knowing he was lying. However, she didn't want to press him at that moment, so she let it go. Still, she silently resolved, 'Asher, you think you can hide things from me? Just wait until we get home. I'm going to lock you up and interrogate you properly.'
