I froze. “Someone else is coming?”
In all the time I’d spent in that prison, I had never once seen anyone visit Emma.
“Not even you,” my wolf added, far too helpfully.
“Yeah. I don’t know who it is, though. My friend couldn’t tell me much.” Celine sighed. “Maybe you’ll run into them tomorrow.”
I shook my head, not dwelling on it. “I’ll take Mia in, let her see Emma, and then we’ll leave. I’m more worried about David and Anthony showing up.”
Celine glanced toward the balcony, where the two girls were playing. Lucy really was a good kid.
At first, jealousy had gotten the better of her. But once she understood who Mia was—and realized there would always be a place for her beside me—she let it go faster than I expected.
