I looked at him, my eyes darkening.
Ridiculous.
“Julie,” Tina urged again. “Help William upstairs. He’s completely drunk.”
I felt irritation rise, but no matter how much I resisted, I couldn’t embarrass Tina in front of everyone.
I nodded, walked to William, and hauled him up from the sofa.
He really was drunk. He swayed the second he stood.
His whole body reeked of harsh alcohol.
And from the sofa opposite, I could feel someone watching me.
That gaze. Anger, deep and heavy.
Ann was watching too.
I got William into the bedroom.
Then William grabbed both my hands, locking them above me against the mattress.
“Let go!”
He swung one long leg over my waist and pinned me beneath him, trapping me completely under his body as he stared down at me
