“Just like when Elena dumped you,” I said coldly. “You chose me because I have a good family background, I look a bit like her, and I was stupid enough to love you unconditionally.”
Alpha Kendrick’s expression darkened, but I didn’t stop.
“So I was your Plan B all along? You really thought I’d just sit here, waiting for you to come back, and then throw myself into your arms like nothing happened?”
His jaw tightened.
“I wish I had never met you,” I whispered, my voice breaking.
I fought the urge to hurl the ring at his face. Instead, I turned on my heel and walked away, heading straight back to my friend’s party.
