7. Bob has another Problem

896 Words

7 Bob has another Problem THAT WAS HOW BOB and the children happened to be on a muddy beach in Tudor Creek at Sunday lunchtime contemplating the fate of this daddy of all sea turtles. “Come then, children, let’s go home,” said Bob taking Suze and Charlie by the hand, and drawing them back towards the car. Poppy hung back. She wanted to have a last look at the poor creature. She tiptoed up to him and noticed that he seemed to be crying. She bent down and whispered, “Don’t worry. Daddy won’t let them kill you. I know he won’t. I just know he won’t.” Then she straightened up and ran to catch up with the others. The children were quiet on the journey home. Bob had seldom seen them so subdued. He kicked himself for having taken them along with him. He hadn’t really thought things through.
