A Stitch in Time
THE PRESIDENT’S WIFE, MAMA LILY JAMBO, was pleased to hear from Bob and said she would put the plan into action immediately. She only called Bob her dear boy three times. Bob thought that was cheap at the price. He was glad there was over three hundred miles between them.
The cage arrived at the Mazita station the next morning and was driven to the Richardson house where it was unloaded under the lucky bean tree, with the game ranger from the Opunto mainland directing operations.
The trap was baited before dusk and, as it was self-operating, everyone cleared the area leaving only the crickets to await the arrival of the leopard.
But would it come?
