LEAVING MELISSA AND HER BELOVED CHUI in the care of the game ranger, Bob drove on to the head office of the Game Department and, with Mama Lily’s help, arranged for a replacement truck to convey Melissa and her pet leopard back to Mazita. He, himself, didn’t arrive home until mid-afternoon the next day.
Although he was exhausted, he reported to the Governor’s office and told Sir Phillip the tale of the rescue of Chui, the pet leopard who had terrorized the local canine population.
Sir Phillip thanked Bob for his part in resolving the situation and said he hoped that really was the end of the saga.
