The day of leaving the human world had finally come for Ravidad and me. I had to accept that I was leaving Cinna behind. I hugged her tightly before we got into the car that the Council had provided to drop us off. As we approached the portal, the ring was put back into the celestial device, and we both passed through it.
On our return, I saw my mother's disappointed face. We were cheered and welcomed back among our people. My father addressed us with profound happiness, saying, "The two of you have come back with great honor to our people, upholding the basic secret of hiding our location and bringing mutual peace between our people and the society."
After a long celebration, we headed home. Sitting down for supper, I began to wonder why my mom hadn't come to get me from the human society, considering her temperament. I finally found the courage to ask her, "Why didn't you come after me?"
