As I stood on the cliff's edge, the wind whipping my hair into a frenzy, I felt alive. The rush of adrenaline coursed through my veins as I gazed out at the breathtaking view. But then, the wind grew stronger, and I stumbled. I turned to my brother Alan, laughing, and that's when I saw him emerge from behind me, a mischievous glint in his eye. "Hey, stop that!" I exclaimed, trying to shield my face from the gust. Alan chuckled, his eyes sparkling with amusement. "Since you enjoyed the wind so much, I thought you might like more," he said, his voice dripping with teasing. My brother Alan, despite being a bit older than me, still loved to play pranks. As a supernatural being with the ability to control the elements, he often used his powers to play tricks on me. I rolled my eyes good-naturedly. "Come on, hurry up! Mother is calling us." Suddenly, I remembered the upcoming contest. It was a tradition in our community, where we supernatural beings could choose to work with humans on their behalf. I had been looking forward to it for weeks. But my parents had been hesitant, citing the risks involved. "Oh, I forgot about the contest," I said, my excitement bubbling over. Alan grinned. "Yeah, it's going to be epic! Whoever wins gets to work with the humans and gain valuable experience." As we walked towards our home, Exria, I felt a sense of pride. Exria was a mystical realm, hidden from human eyes by powerful magic. One of the secrets we supernatural beings kept was that no matter how cordial our relationship with humans was, they didn't know about Exria's existence. Mother greeted us warmly as we entered our home. "Ah, children, I'm glad you're here. We need to discuss the contest and the rules." I leaned forward, eager to hear more about the contest and the opportunities it held. Little did I know, this contest would change everything.
