My cellphone rang and interrupted me reading a book I’d dug out of my closet. It was quite unusual for my cellphone to ring unless it was one of the twins so I didn’t ignore it. Sure enough it was their number that popped up on the screen so I answered immediately.
“Alyson! You need to turn on the TV right now!” Svetlana’s voice exclaimed urgently. “Put on channel 5, the news.”
Without thinking any further, I raced into the living room where my dad was sitting on the sofa watching a movie and immediately tuned in to channel 5.
