XIX in god’s hands Goodbyes were only for those who loved with their eyes, because there was no such thing as separation for those who loved with their hearts. At least that was what Jalāl ad-Dīn Muhammad Rūmī wrote, and what Svetlana Petrov believed. I admired that kind of belief and devotion, and the inner peace that accompanied it. For me goodbyes were still too permanent and there certainly wasn’t anything good about them. Dear Anderson, What is it like out there, wherever you are now? Have you been released of your pain, or do you still carry it around? Is there really serenity in death? Because it’s been nothing but the opposite for those of us left behind.
