Damon's POV By the time I got to the tomb, Drake was already there, pacing near the entrance like he couldn’t decide whether to go in or stay out. The moment he saw me, he stopped and walked over, his movements stiff and jerky. “Drake,” I called out, my tone sharper than I intended as I approached. “What are you doing here already? The tomb isn’t secure.” “I stabilized the entry,” he said quickly, gesturing toward the stone structure. His voice had an edge of defensiveness to it. “We should strengthen it and seal it from out here.” “Stabilized it how?” I asked, narrowing my eyes as I stepped closer. “You went inside?” “Only the entry,” he said, brushing past my question with a dismissive wave. “It’s not as bad as it looks.” “Not as bad as it looks?” I repeated, my irritation flaring.
