Sabrina gritted her teeth and said, "But from now on, don’t provoke that lunatic Drake. He's not normal, and we only brought him in to humiliate Cheryl, understand?"
Ashley, however, sat on the floor, crying and throwing a tantrum. "Mom, do something now! I want Cheryl kicked out of the family immediately!"
Sabrina paced back and forth, hesitating. "Now's not the right time. Cheryl is currently negotiating a crucial project with the Hargold Group. If we act against her now, it could have devastating consequences for our family's business."
The Hargold Group was the number one financial tycoon in Metrobay City.
If the Sanchez family could secure a deal with the Hargold Group, their business would rise to new heights, potentially becoming one of the city's top-tier families.
The project involved over 10 billion in funding, and failure would mean complete bankruptcy for the Sanchez family.
Ashley, who had long coveted this project, wiped away her tears and said, "Mom, why don't you let me handle it? I can definitely secure the deal with Hargold Group."
Sabrina thought for a moment and then smiled. "You're right. Why should we let that b*tch Cheryl benefit from such a big project? The negotiations with the Hargold Group are almost done; all you need to do is sign the contract. Fine, I'll let you take over this project."
Ashley immediately stopped crying, her face flushed with excitement. This was the opportunity she had been waiting for.
By signing the contract with the Hargold Group, she could completely surpass Cheryl and finally gain her grandmother's approval.
Sabrina had already made up her mind and, with a smug smile, poured herself a drink. "I'll call a company meeting right now and announce Cheryl's dismissal. The family no longer needs that wretched girl."
"Yes! Let Cheryl and her parasitic family be thrown out for good. They better starve to death outside," Ashley cursed viciously.

At that moment, Cheryl had already driven home.
It was a modest house that Cheryl had bought after starting work for the family.
Michelle had given all the resources and wealth to the first and second branches of the family, leaving Ian's family to fend for themselves.
And outwardly, she claimed that this was to teach Ian's family to be self-reliant.
Michelle was just that blatantly biased.
As Drake walked toward the house, Mandy stood at the door, glaring at her son-in-law, her heart filled with sorrow. How could her excellent daughter end up marrying a violent murderer?
Seeing Drake about to enter, Mandy angrily blocked the doorway. "I will never accept this marriage, and Drake will never live here."
If Drake at least had a proper job, Mandy might have reluctantly accepted him.
But the man standing in front of her was not only penniless but also a violent criminal. That made Mandy's heart ache.
Ian, standing to the side, weakly said, "Dear, this marriage was arranged by Mom. We really can't just drive him away."
Cheryl, watching Drake, had a deeply conflicted expression.
If they kicked Drake out now and Sabrina's people caught him, he wouldn't survive.
Thinking of this, Cheryl looked up, her expression sorrowful as she said, "Mom, Drake is already my husband. All our family and friends have witnessed the marriage. Let him stay, please."
Mandy covered her face and ran into the house, crying.
Ian coughed weakly as he slowly moved to comfort his wife.
In this sorrowful atmosphere, Cheryl forced herself to keep it together and led Drake into the house.
Inside the small house, there wasn't even an extra room available.
Cheryl hesitated for a moment before leading Drake into her bedroom.
The atmosphere in the girl's bedroom became heavy.
Drake looked at Cheryl and spoke gently, "Cheryl, you've always been the angel I've been searching for. No matter how many years pass, you're still so kind and gentle."
Cheryl's face reddened again, and she replied softly, "Don't be silly. I know you're actually homeless. Now that you've offended Ashley and her family, it's safer for you to stay here for now."
After saying that, she looked at the room with only one large bed, turned shy once again.
Drake smiled and pointed at the sofa by the bed. "I can sleep here. Don't worry, Cheryl, I won't make things difficult for you."
Cheryl didn't expect this man, who had once been a violent vagrant, to be so gentle and considerate. 'And since earlier, Drake has been protecting me all along. If he wasn't so violent, he'd actually make a decent husband.'
Just as she was lost in thought, Cheryl's phone rang.
The call was from none other than Ashley.
"Cheryl, listen up! As of now, you don't need to come to the company anymore—you've been kicked out!" Ashley sneered triumphantly. "You and that lunatic Drake can start begging on the streets now. This is the fate of you two lackeys! Hahaha..."
With a sharp laugh, Ashley hung up.
Shortly after, Cheryl received a message from the company's HR department.
Not only had she been fired, but the project she had painstakingly negotiated for three months with the Hargold Group had been handed over to the vicious Ashley.
Cheryl's mind went blank, and her body swayed as she nearly fainted.
The Hargold Group's project was something she had poured her heart and soul into, and now Ashley had stolen all the credit.
On top of that, she had lost her job at the family business.
Overwhelmed by anger and frustration, Cheryl couldn't hold it in any longer, and burst into tears.
Drake gently handed over the tissue, and silently wiped away her tears.
"Drake, none of this is your fault. They're targeting me," Cheryl said, choking back her sobs.
She could only grit her teeth now, trying to summon the strength to face all of this.
A dark, cold look flashed across Drake's eyes. "Ashley and Sabrina, you made my Cheryl cry. You're asking for death!"
Turning around, Drake immediately dialed a number.
Travis, his loyal and mysterious subordinate, was waiting on the other end of the line for his orders.
"Travis, about the Hargold Group project, here's what I want you to do..."
After giving Travis his instructions, Drake hung up the phone and returned to the room, gently holding Cheryl's hand.
Cheryl struggled for a moment before sighing helpless, "Drake, what now?"
Drake looked at her tenderly and said in a serious tone, "The Hargold Group project can only be signed by you, Cheryl. The Sanchez family id*ots will be begging you soon."
Cheryl's eyes widened in disbelief. She could only respond with a bitter smile, "Drake, don't joke with me."
But Drake's expression was deadly serious. "Cheryl, I'm serious. Just wait—Ashley and Sabrina will be begging at your feet soon."
