The first thing a new Alpha does? Clean house.
Ava’s first meeting was not a celebration. It was a trial.
Darius was dragged in by two betas. His hands were bound.
"Alpha Ava," one beta said. "What is your judgment?"
Darius lifted his head. "You can’t do this. I was Alpha—"
"For three years you ran Silver Fang into the ground," Ava said coldly. "You rejected your mate for no power. You let betas go hungry. You fear made us weak."
The hall was silent.
"I’m not killing you," Ava said. Darius blinked, shocked. "Death is easy."
She stepped down from the throne. "You’re banished. No pack. No territory. You walk alone until you earn your way back."
Gasp. Banishment was worse than death for a wolf.
Darius’s face broke. "Ava, please—"
"Your name is gone from the records," Ava cut him off. "You’re nobody now."
Two betas dragged him out as he screamed.
Ava turned back to the pack. "Second order," she said. "Every she-wolf who was cast out for being ‘weak’ is to be found. Bring them home. Silver Fang will be strong because we are all strong."
Rowan watched from the side. For the first time in years, he looked proud.
Ava sat back on the throne.
Three years ago she left with nothing. Today she ruled.
"Meeting adjourned," she said. "We start rebuilding tomorrow."
END.
