Serena cursed as she missed her bus. Or rather, the bus ignored her while she waved frantically and ran after it. She was a hundred percent sure the driver had seen her but chosen to keep going anyway.
"Ah, piss off!" she shouted at the back end of the bus, causing a concerned woman with a stroller to cross the street. Serena released a growl of frustration from the depths of her soul and kicked an empty crisp bag towards the bin, not that it had any use.
Not only was she going to have to clock in late for work and sit through a lecture from her supervisor, this meant missing her breakfast with Maize and that was the most disappointing bit. Especially after the afternoon they spent together, she"d been looking so forward to having breakfast with her again.
