Chapter 6

704 Words
Amani's POV "Amani, you have to get up or we'll be late" I hear a voice beside my bed. "Mom," I groan "just five more minutes " and before I can pull the blanket to cover my head, I feel someone tug my arm and next thing I know is that I'm on the floor. "Ouch!" "Sorry Amani but you have to get ready," I look up to see Likando. How does she look so perfect in the morning. "I already took a bath so hurry up I'll be waiting for you," is what she says before going to her side of the room and taking a sit. After a quick clean up, I get out of the bathroom, change into some clothes and Likando and I head down for breakfast. "I'm so hungry right now," I say as Likando and I take a sit next to each other. "I'm pretty sure breakfast is going to be delivered soon," and just as she says that, the doors open and the royal servants begin to dish out our breakfast. "Ladies, please remain seated after you are done eating so we can tell you today's schedule," the royal advisor announces. Breakfast passes with a blur but I think that's because everyone is too excited for what's to come. "Alright," the advisor begins, "you may address me as lady Penelope from now on and if you at all have any questions, wait for me to finish talking before you ask," she looks around the room making sure we understand. "There has been a change of plan and you will all meet the Prince the day after tomorrow instead of tomorrow," murmurs erupt around. "Silence!" Madam Penelope looks so done with this. "There is a lot to learn before he's arrival so please try to cooperate. Your mannerism classes begin after breakfast and after that you will have your lunch before you take your royal life lessons," is all she says before quickly leaving the room. "I thought we get to ask her questions," Likando says before we both erupt in a fit of giggles. ^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^ "Seriously though, I feel so bad for the girl that ends up being Tycen's mate," I what I say before throwing myself on the bed. "Amani, the lessons weren't even that bad," Likando chuckles before entering the bathroom to clean up for dinner. Alright, the lessons weren't that bad. I ended up enjoying then and somethings just felt like instinct. I lay on my bed waiting for Likando to finish before I head in, take a quick shower and before I know it, we're headed down to dinner. "Glad to see you're not causing any trouble here Amanda," I don't have to look up to know that Poppy spoke those words. Poppy is the Alpha's daughter from my pack and she's always hated me since we were kids. I don't really know why she hates me and that bothered me at some point because we were once bestfriends but after we hit puberty, I apparently wasn't good enough. "What do you want Poppy?" I sigh because honestly I'm not in the mood for this. "I honestly don't know why you couldn't stay home because the moon goddess would never betray us by making you the future queen," she spits. "Firstly, I didn't exactly have a choice. I had to be here so get that into your pretty little head and secondly, it's Amani not Amanda. You know this," I'm really getting tired of this. Poppy scoffs and before she can say anything, Likando cuts in. "Are you jealous of Amani?" Likando asks and the look on Poppy's face seems to answer the question before she scoffs and turns to leave. I'm pretty sure I look like a fish right now as I look at Likando with wide eyes and an open mouth. "It's pretty obvious that she was jealous of you. I saw her looking at you all day today during the lessons but I didn't pay any mind to it but it all makes sense now. Well that's an interesting discovery. After dinner Likando and I head to bed and once my head hits the pillow, I'm out like a light.
