Tycen's Pov Having power, authority and influence might seem like an amazing thing and it is but it can also be the worst thing. I have so many people looking up to me and watching my every move because everyone expects me to be perfect. The weight I carry in my heart seems to be dragging me down and I wish I could share how I feel but no one would ever understand. That is why I am so desperate to find my mate. When my father suggested that we invited all the young ladies in the Kingdom for a ball to see which one is my mate, I had mixed feelings about it. I always wanted to meet my mate in a more natural way so the idea saddened me but again I was thrilled that I would most likely meet her soon. So here I am having breakfast with my parents and very much on edge because the guests arrive this evening. I wonder what she'll look like, what she'll be wearing although I know already know that she will outshine all the other ladies tonight. I can't wait to show her my favourite spots in the castle or th- "Tycen, are you even paying attention?" My father says. "Of course father," is my reply. "Care to repeat what I just said?" Uh I hate that my father can read me so well. Even with his royal duties, my father has always put my sister and I before anything else but that also means that he knows us to well that he can easily read us. "Ah......being on my best behaviour?" Is all I can come up with. From the corner of my eyes I can see the corner of my mother's lips lift up a bit. My mother is a wise woman and she is easily the best queen that this kingdom has ever had. My grandmother was a great queen but my mother has nothing on her. She is kind, compassionate, understanding, patient, and overall and amazing queen to the kingdom. "Are you excited to meet her?" 'Her' being my mate. Because of the greatness that my mother is, everyone has high expectations from my mate, I do too but I just don't show it, she has such big shoes to fit and I will gladly be by her side every step of the way. "Yeah, I really want to know because a while back it was funny being the only friend without a mate in your friend group but now it's just sad," Janelle said. My sister and I are really close and I love her to death but she can be really annoying. I roll my eyes at her and look up at my father just to see him looking lovingly at my mother. "Alright you two" I say causing both of them to look at me" you said you wanted to talk to me?" I see my parents look at each other as if having a silent argument until my mother turns to me and gives me a look that I know I won't like whatever is to be said. "Sweetie, you won't be meeting the girls tonight but instead you'll meet them on the last day" my mother raises her hand when she sees that I'm about to argue with her " this is being done to ensure that the girls know what they are getting in to. Tonight, we'll go through rules with them, tomorrow they'll learn and manners and what to do in stressful situations and then the following night you'll get to meet them before they have to go back the next day" my mother must read my mind because she gives me the answer to the question I was about to ask " and to avoid both of you knowing each other through your sents, the castle will be sprayed to hide your sent and you and the boys will go out camping for the days that we'll be getting the girls ready and you leave immediately after breakfast. " Well that makes sense. "Alright then, I'll be on my way." I get up to give my mother a hug and kiss on the cheek before giving my father a hug and turning to leave "What? No hug for me?!" Janelle shouts our. "Let's not pretend like you'll miss me!" "Fair point!" She yells. I leave the room heading to my the North Wing which is specifically mind and those close to me. "Finally" says Tristan holding my duffle bag "we were beginning to think we'd have to send Broody to pick you up" "Yeah considering that we're in trouble for the mess we made last week, I don't think that would have been great" James says coming from my bathroom. "Alright I hope y'all packed everything up because we're supposed to be on the road right now" Broody says from the door. My friends and I each play a vital role in this friend group that I'm sure you'd figure out if you spend a whole day with us. We all get in my car and soon enough we're driving to our little home for the next 3 days.
