I arrived in the Summit Clan the next day and drove to Annette's residence, and truly, Xavier told the truth that she had packed out. At first, it was like a dream, but when the new resident showed up to attend to us, I had no choice but to believe it.
The woman stepped out. She seemed to know who I was and bowed respectfully, “Alpha King, what could have brought you here?” she asked, looking so concerned.
I took a deep swallow, kind of holding myself from breaking into sobs. “Uhm, I'm here for someone, but she seemed to have packed out.”
She nodded, “You mean, the past resident? I didn't even get to see what the person looked like,” she said, wearing a slight smile as though it meant nothing. “You could ask around the neighbourhood or her friends. They could know her whereabouts.”
