I stood in the doorway, gripping the hem of my clothes until my knuckles turned white. "Come here." Mason crooked a finger at me. I walked over and stopped in front of him. "Mason, if you have a job that pays, just tell me what it is." I tried to keep my voice steady. Mason set down his wineglass and looked me over from head to toe.
