I ignored him, sat down, and shoveled food into my mouth. He strode over, dropped into the chair across from me, and pushed the plate of braised pork toward my hand. "I told you to eat it. Are you deaf?" His tone was vicious, but his eyes darted away. I put down my fork, picked up the plate, and dumped the food straight into a nearby waste bin.
