At dinner time she walked into the big room full of tables and wolves, stopping at the entrance, looking for an empty seat. Immediately she felt him next to her. Looking slowly at her from head to toe and sniffing her.
-Hello, Daniel.
-Hi back! Baby, you look and smell delicious!
"You look yummy too, Wolfie!"
"Myra, watch it."
"Why? He is our mate, admit it."
-Stop it!
-Why? I like it. Try it, you might like it too.
She rolled her eyes and moved forward, seeing Alpha Cruz waving at them.
He leaned to her, touching her elbow, starting some tingling between them.
-Don't do that!
-Why not? I like touching my mate, and I know you like it too.
She walked to their places in silence, letting him take the place next to her Alpha.
-I hope you'll stay next to me.
-Do I have a choice or another empty seat?
- Baby, you're stuck with me, try and be more smiley, like me.
She opened her mouth to say something, to where to shove his happiness, but a scream coming from her Luna, who was next to Alpha Cruz was heard instead.
-Alpha Daniel! Where have you been for so long?
She almost threw herself to him, hugging him and kissing him on the right cheek.
Leila suddenly was very interested in her plate full of starters.
She leaned back searching for a waiter. Right away a girl whispered at her:
-What can I get you, Leila?
-Oh, hi Amy. Are you on duty tonight?
-Yep.
- Give me something strong.
-How about champagne? Everybody will get one. Soon Alpha will have a toast.
-Ok. Fill my glass and thank you.
The girl filled Leila's glass and stepped to fill Daniel's glass.
It was a big challenge because Luna was moving around and the waiter almost spills her bottle, and an angry voice alerted her:
-Watch it! Don't bother me! Get lost!
-But, Luna, Alpha Daniel's glass…
-Baby, do something, she upsets me.
Without thinking Leila grabbed the bottle and poured the sparkling liquid in his glass and gave back the remains to Amy.
A fuming Luna was looking at her when Daniel asked Veronica:
-It's an amazing room! Did you make
the decoration?
-Yes! How you guessed?
-I see your style.
-Thank you. Someone appreciates my work.
She drank with big gulps almost half of the glass, then looked at her Luna who was still cringed on Daniel and still talking too loud.
Even with alcohol she still couldn't stand her Luna.
Alpha Cruz cleared his throat:
-Hello everybody! May I have your attention?
-We are interrupted, alpha Daniel, but I'll come back soon to tell me more.
And with that, Luna Veronica was headed to her chair, next to Alpha Cruz.
-Good evening to you all. Thank you for your presence. I've organized this dinner in honor of my friend, Alpha Daniel, and my best warrior Leila Smith. I hope you'll have a good time. Thank you and enjoy it.
-Thank you, Alpha was heard from all the people in the room, except for two persons.
Daniel said thank you, friend, and Leila just thank you and raised her glass to him.
After starters, the main course, and two glasses of champagne later, Leila still could hear Luna's voice too close and too loud. So she rose and went to the toilet, plotting a way to sneak from the party.
Maybe tomorrow morning she'll have a headache, but for now, it's good.
And maybe she will talk too much, but only to some people, she knows.
But when she stepped outside the bathroom, he grabbed her.
-I'm still waiting for the answers.
She looked down, and whispered:
-Follow me.
He tried following her, but in a few steps, he was lost in the sea of men and women moving in every direction.
Even her scent had mixt and disappeared in the crowd.
A tingling touch in his palm and a whisper in his right ear:
-For an Alpha, you get lost pretty easily.
-Maybe I wanted to get lost for you to find me, was his smiling answer.
