The rest of the week blurred by, and soon Kenneth and I were heading home. I was in pain leaving Elisa, but I had to return to my people at some point. I somehow knew that Elisa had been crying again when I left, but the moment I did leave to go home, I started to get messages from her almost immediately. I, of course, replied.
We had arranged to video call for when I got home, so I could show her the dragon palace. But that won’t be happening tonight. The moment we pulled outside the dragon palace, I could see my wiry-eyed father and my mother with red and swollen eyes. My father was clearly tired and stressed, my mother had been crying. A growl ripped out of me, as I hopped out of the car. Closely, followed by Kenneth, and Beta Quinn, who was leading the team to escort us back.
