He chuckles. “There’s no way Edward would have let that happen.” A few days ago, I probably would have doubted his words. But I watched Edward defend me in front of everyone today, watched him do things he didn’t have to do. If anyone can testify that Edward is caring underneath the grumpy face and the rotating door of bad moods, it’s me. Not that I’d say that out loud or his giant ego gets even bigger.
