For someone who claims she wants me to ace my midterms, Layla sure has a strange way of showing it.
Half my lectures disappear because instead of paying attention, I’m busy planning our weekend.
Turns out we’re ridiculously different, which is equal parts concerning and somehow adorable.
While I’m thinking bowling, pool, arcades, go-karts or literally anything that involves movement, Layla is determined to spend half the weekend watching The Lion King and other movies.
Apparently, this is what compromise looks like and I’m also learning something important: you don’t win arguments against your girl.
ME: Lion King it is then.
Her reply comes less than a minute later.
GLASSES: Yayyy!!
A smile pulls at my mouth.
